Australian Idol returned to screens in 2023 after a 14-year hiatus.

With a refreshed look and feel, the search for Australia’s singing sensation was led by Harry Connick Jr, Amy Shark, Meghan Trainor and returning judge Kyle Sandilands.

It is after this whirlwind season that Channel Seven has announced the show will be coming back in 2024, with Scott Tweedie returning as co-host.

2023 saw the return of some familiar faces (including Marcia Hines, Jessica Mauboy and Adam Lambert), with 24-year-old, Royston Sagigi-Baira was crowned the winner of Australia Idol 2023, joining the likes of previous victors Guy Sebastian, Casey Donovan and Stan Walker.

Idol’s relaunch in 2023 was Scott’s first major role in his return to Australia, having largely based himself overseas for a number of years.

After a thoroughly enjoyable first season, he is looking forward to returning for Season 2!
