Chopper pilot and wildlife relocator Matt Wright has announced his next global television venture, set to air on Netflix and the Nine Network.

After being discovered almost a decade ago and successfully broadcasting in over 130 markets around the world on National Geographic Channel, Wright has today announced his new global partnership. Along with his new production partner Beyond Productions, Wright’s latest project will also involve his beautiful wife Kaia and young son Banjo.

Set in one of the world’s final frontiers, the Northern Territory of Australia, Wright will take viewers into his world as part time animal relocator, conservationist, and successful tourism entrepreneur in the yet to be named series.

Wright, who is soon to appear in an upcoming Tourism Australia campaign, is one of the true success stories out of the Northern Territory and a much loved international export. When asked about filming in the Northern Territory he shared what he’s excited about most. “The rugged beauty of the NT is unparalleled to anywhere else, I’m lucky to call it my home and it really does have all the perfect ingredients to film a TV show. With the unpredictability of catching crocs, flying choppers in the wet season, the excitement of our tour operations and the unknown that comes with living in the bush there is always one hell of an adventure around every corner. And the fact I get to film with my family and share our different life up here is a bonus.”

“I’m also stoked to be partnering with the guys at Screen Territory on this project, they’ve really backed us and invested a lot in the show.”

Wright’s long-term agent and business partner, Nick Fordham, also Executive Producer of the series said “We are very proud of what we have been able to achieve over the past decade creating a successful global television presence for Matt. We feel we have taken our project to a whole new level partnering with Beyond and signing with our broadcast partners Netflix and Nine.”

John Luscombe, Executive Producer and President of Beyond Productions said “We are excited to be working with Matt, his family and Nick Fordham to bring this uniquely Australian adventure series to a worldwide audience.”

“Screen Territory is delighted to be partnering with Matt Wright, Nick Fordham, Beyond, Channel Nine and Netflix in bringing this project to Australian and international audiences. We are also very excited to be working with Beyond Productions for the first time and look forward to developing this relationship.

“Matt is a great ambassador for the Northern Territory, and with this new project he will not only highlight the exceptional beauty of the Top End but also share with audiences the unique family life that he leads here.

“The series provides a great opportunity for cross collaboration with our Tourism NT colleagues, and as the borders and international travel opens up, this series provides us with the opportunity to place the Territory front of mind with Netflix’s 204 million strong global subscriber base.”
