The health food company established by former rugby league international Adam MacDougall has clinched a major breakthrough with Coles with its fast-growing brands Man Shake and Lady Shake now stocked in more than 250 of the giant retailer’s supermarkets throughout New South Wales and a national roll-out to follow.
The in-store exposure of his two biggest-selling health products follows more than three years of intense negotiation involving Mr MacDougall and Coles executives.
“I learned in my football days that working hard to achieve the goals I set myself was the only pathway to success and this is the same model I have applied to my health and wellness business,” said the Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Economics today.
“Having clinched this major retail exposure for our products with Coles is a significant sales breakthrough for our business at this exciting stage of our development,” he added.
Mr MacDougall, who played in both of the Newcastle Knights two premiership victories in 1997 and 2001 and retired from football in 2011, launched the Man Shake following his critical analysis of many aspects of the health industry, including his concerns with the dangerous amounts of sugar in so-called health products.
“The Man Shake is now Australia’s leading men’s meal replacement and has set a new benchmark for health, low sugar meal replacements,” he says.
With a loyal customer base well into the hundreds of thousands, The Man Shake and Lady Shake have changed the lives of hundreds of thousands of Australians by providing a healthy, low in sugar, high in protein shake option that is having outstanding results.

Coles will stock the newly released five-day ten pack of product which comes in a variety of flavours and there are expansion plans for the product to be stocked as well in Queensland and Victoria. In addition to the very popular shakes, Coles will also sell Man Bars & Lady Bars, a natural handmade protein bar.
“Our various products will be rolled out as consumers become increasingly health aware and want to know what is in their food,” he added.
