Allana Ferguson is a former international women’s rugby league and union player who now presents on Channel 9.
A childhood prodigy, Alanna, was the youngest female to play open women’s Australian Oztag aged 15 and a few years later in 2013 represented Australia in Rugby Sevens.
Consecutive knee injured forced Alanna on the sidelines for several years before making the switch back to rugby league. Alanna played her first women’s rugby league game in 2015 and was later starred for New South Wales against Queensland. This saw her elevated into the Australia Jillaroos squad the following year.
In 2016, she made her debut for Australia at the Auckland Nines and later made her test debut in the Anzac match against New Zealand. Later that year she starred for New South Wales in their first victory over Queensland in eighteen years.
Alanna regularly appears on television programs such as the Sunday Footy Show and the The Footy Show on the Nine Network as well as on Channel 7’s upcoming coverage of the Rugby League World Cup. Alanna also works for radio with Triple M.
Outside of sport, Alanna is a fully qualified teacher.
