Sylvia Jeffreys is one of Australia’s most respected journalists and a leading television presenter. As co-host of Today Extra on the Nine Network, Sylvia is a trusted voice in news and current affairs, with a career spanning flagship program including The Today Show, A Current Affair, and 60 Minutes, cementing her as a household name in Australian media.

A trained journalist, Queensland-born Jeffreys launched her television career with Channel 9 in Brisbane, her reports on the devastating 2010-2011 Queensland floods, which claimed more than 30 lives, and the highly powerful and destructive tropical Cyclone Yasi in early 2011, winning high praise from the network.

Now Sydney based, Sylvia has become one of the most recognisable faces on Australian television. She has reported on a wide range of international stories, from the Dreamworld Ride Tragedy to the Australian/Pacific tour of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Her extensive coverage has also included reporting from the scenes of major bushfires and floods across several states, as well as exclusive interviews with global icons such as David Beckham, Chris Hemsworth, and Venus Williams.

A highly sought-after host and MC, Sylvia has led major corporate events, including Qantas’ 100th Anniversary Gala. In 2024, she was a key part of Nine’s coverage of the Paris Olympics, co-hosting the Paralympics alongside Dylan Alcott, and more recently, she spearheaded coverage of the Australian Open. She also served as an ambassador for Destination Gold Coast and the Sydney Marathon, supporting the event and its charitable initiatives.

In 2025, Sylvia expanded into podcasting with The Pay Off with Sylvia Jeffreys, launched in partnership with Nine Podcasts.
